DELAND CROSSINGS GROUNDBREAKING – U.S. Congressman John Mica
and U.S. Department of Commerce Assistant Secretary for Economic
Development Sandy Baruah participated in the latest groundbreaking
ceremony at DeLand Crossings Industrial Park to welcome BBK Performance.
BBK, a California manufacturer of after-market, high performance auto
parts, has begun the construction of a new 62,000-square-foot production
facility. According to Volusia County Chair Frank Bruno, BBK is
investing more than $6 million in the new facility and plans to hire up
to 40 high-skilled, high-waged workers. Members of the Volusia County
Council and the DeLand City Commission also welcomed BBK’s founders
Brian and Ken Murphy as the newest Volusia County manufacturers. BBK is
the second automotive company to begin construction of new production
facilities at DeLand Crossings Industrial Park in recent months. The
park is designed to accommodate up to 300,000 square feet of
manufacturing space, and is expected to attract up to $32 million in
capital investments. At capacity, it will accommodate an estimated 300
workers. For more information about DeLand Crossings, contact Pedro Leon

announced that the U.S. trade deficit for goods and services decreased

deficit decrease resulted from a $2.2- billion increase in exports,
coupled with a $2.2-billion decrease in imports of goods and services.
