CONSTRUCTION JOBS REPORT As reported, 38 states and the District of Columbia added construction jobs between April 2017 and April 2018, according to an analysis of Labor Department data by the Associated General Contractors of America. Association officials said the employment growth likely would have been higher if firms had found more qualified workers to hire. California added 59,500 construction jobs (7.4 percent) since April 2017 while Florida added 34,900 jobs (7.0 percent).
