HURRICANE EXPO COMING JUNE 8TH – Don’t miss the Hurricane Expo scheduled for June 8, 2019. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Volusia County Fairgrounds. The Hurricane Expo offers business owners an opportunity to prepare for a weather emergency long before a storm approaches the Florida coast. Now is the time to review disaster planning checklists, maps, and other emergency resources and attending the Hurricane Expo is a great way to get started. The Expo will include information on home and small business preparedness. There will be refreshments, safety demonstrations and guest speakers, headlined by Ken Bouvier, the New Orleans EMS Deputy Chief of Operations who assumed command of Field Operations in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The Hurricane Expo is free to the public and hosted by Community Organizations Active in Disasters (COAD), Volusia County Government, and the Volusia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. For event details or information on sponsorships or vendor tables, email COAD Co-Chair Frank Bruno at email@example.com or call 386-341-2021.
