VOLUSIA COUNTY AUGUST LABOR STATISTICS

?The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity has released the preliminary labor statistics for August. Volusia County’s unemployment rate has dropped from 5.1% to 4.9%, which is lower than Florida’s at 5.0% and the nation’s at 5.3%. Additionally, Volusia County’s labor force has increased by approximately 14,332 from one year ago, bringing the total to 261,762. The number of county residents employed increased by 20,015 from one year ago for a total of 248,953. In addition, there were employment gains of 1,300 in the Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which includes Flagler County.
