Volusia County’s Division of Economic Development, in conjunction with CareerSource Flagler Volusia, is launching a revolutionary new workforce system resource that will reshape the local employment landscape by objectively connecting qualified talent with available job openings.
WorkLocal, a new career advancement platform and mobile app, is designed for candidates to share their unique career goals anonymously and connect with hiring companies through powerful algorithmic matching. Utilizing WorkLocal, job seekers will be able to access opportunities that genuinely fit their skillsets through a resource that promotes diversity and inclusion by minimizing biases in hiring decisions and ensuring that the best candidate is matched to the best job.
“Workforce attraction and development is a consistent need. Our goal is to help the business community prosper while also keeping our talented residents employed locally when possible,” said Cyrus Callum, director of Volusia County Aviation and Economic Resources. “The WorkLocal talent portal will help us support economic development by providing an anonymous equal opportunity employment platform that drives prosperity and stimulates the economy in the region.”
Powered by GoGig, WorkLocal is a free portal designed to attract talent by promoting career mobility and helping passive and active job seekers connect with hiring businesses in a process that’s void of implicit bias. WorkLocal centralizes workforce systems to stimulate the entire labor force, not just the unemployed population, by providing access to job seekers who may not be on traditional job boards.
“As a Florida-based company, GoGig is excited to partner with Volusia County Economic Development and CareerSource Flagler Volusia to help build more efficient talent pipelines for the region and drive workforce development in our home state,” said Chris Hodges, founder and CEO of GoGig. “With unemployment rates at all-time lows, we’re excited to see economic development and workforce development agencies come together to solve a top challenge for our Florida businesses with the WorkLocal platform.”
With WorkLocal, businesses can swiftly identify candidates whose skills and experiences closely match their needs, resulting in more efficient and successful hires. Job seekers are encouraged to join the WorkLocal community, build their profile and gain access to opportunities based on their skillsets. For more information, sign up at www.WorkLocalJobs.com.
